The Alexander Technique is a cognitive embodiment training that teaches performers how to skillfully manage stressful circumstances, reduce performance anxiety, avoid injury and musculoskeletal pain, and increase overall functioning and performance ability.
In this experiential workshop, we’ll be exploring some of the universal principles of human functioning that FM Alexander discovered while trying to solve a perplexing vocal issue he was experiencing over 100 years ago.

Bio:
Katie Fittipaldi is a cellist and educator who is passionate about bringing Alexander Technique into the realm of education to support wellbeing and professional excellence. She is a certified Alexander Technique teacher, Alexander in Education specialist, and Mobile Body Alignment™ instructor. Over the span of nearly two decades, Katie has shared the broadly applicable and practical nature of Alexander work with groups across multiple industries, including healthcare workers, equestrians, legal professionals, administrative staff, food service workers, visual artists, athletes, dancers, actors, writers, educators and a wide variety of musicians. Katie has been an instructor at Eastman School of Music since 2015.
