Avery offers meditation peer support rooted in shared presence and collaborative inquiry into what it is to be human. His approach is shaped not only by formal training—through the Unified Mindfulness Compass Teacher Training program —but also by years of lived experience—of moving through disorientation and distress, and learning, through practice and relationship, what truly helps.

His own path has included panic disorder, generalized anxiety and depression—and the slow resolution of those chronic states over time. Through this, he came to understand suffering intimately and some of the subtle and often surprising conditions that support a return to well-being. His path has also taken him across cultures and continents, including time in the Peace Corps and seven years living and working in China.

Avery continues to love exploring—alongside others—how we come into deeper relationship with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. He finds meaning in supporting people to slow down, turn toward their own experience, and allow their natural reflections and questions to unfold. Again and again, he has seen that with time, space, and care, people can gently unburden themselves and begin to meet life with greater clarity and ease.
