Every stage of life holds the potential for both opportunities and difficulties. Sarah is interested in helping adults to grow and make peace with the challenges they face. Perhaps you are having trouble with identity, relationships, career, finances, family, spirituality, or any number of other issues. Later in life, you may feel challenged to stay engaged and maintain a sense of identity and purpose when your working years are over. Or perhaps you are struggling to find meaning and value in a world very different from the one you grew up in.
Living with serious illness can be challenging no matter your phase of life; common experiences may include feelings of grief, sadness, frustration, and anger. Illness may also force us to confront fears or other feelings around death or the loss of a loved one. Sarah is passionate about supporting people living with serious illness, and their families, to work through and come to terms with emotional and spiritual issues to find acceptance, meaning, and even room for joy.
Sarah is a trauma-informed therapist who is grounded in a person-centered, humanistic tradition of psychotherapy. That means that she believes the potential for change lies within every person. She will walk alongside you through the process of therapy but ultimately, YOU are the expert on you, and therapy will proceed at your pace. Sarah also draws from a variety of traditions, such as Jungian, gestalt, CBT, mindfulness, and existentialism, to best meet your individual needs and support your therapeutic goals.
