Meghan Garvey, LCSW (she/her/hers) is creating a practice at Crossbridge to work exclusively with individuals seeking the intervention of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR*) as a part of their healing journey. Maybe you are just looking to seek short-term therapy to specifically let go of a specific traumatic memory, habit, or phobia? Meghan will work with you to design a uniquely-tailored and efficient treatment plan to specifically address this challenge using EMDR. Perhaps you are already established with a therapist who you are wanting to stay with, but is not able to offer you EMDR themselves? Meghan can collaborate with your established therapist to integrate EMDR into your current treatment plan. Having witnessed the incredible and rapid changes people experience in their mental health from this revolutionary treatment, Meghan is an EMDR practitioner** on a mission to make EMDR more accessible in Rochester.

About Meghan

Meghan Garvey is an EMDRIA-trained EMDR practitioner and licensed clinical social worker. Meghan holds a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Social Work from Skidmore College. Meghan has worked as a therapist treating complex mental health and substance use disorders in New York and Missouri since August 2013.

Meghan believes that the role of a therapist is to support you in developing whatever tools you need to set yourself free. You already contain all of the wisdom you need to heal. You may just need some technical support to get all of the way there. Meghan's goal is to essentially serve as a glorified, and much more personable, GPS: mapping the path to healing with as efficient of a route as possible and occasionally making remarks that help you remember you are not alone.
