Carl Hoffman has been practicing yoga since 1989, and teaching since 2003. He has studied with many leading teachers in the US and Canada, as well as at the Iyengar yoga institute in Pune, India. His primary teacher is Francois Raoult of Open Sky Yoga in Rochester. He also studied Mindfulness Yoga with Frank Jude Boccio.
Carl founded Yoga at Abundance in 2006. After moving the studio to his home near Pinnacle Hill in 2009 he changed the studio name to take advantage of the positive connotation of the word “pinnacle.”
He is interested in yoga history and philosophy in addition to practical yoga.
He is currently working on a personal commentary on the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.
Carl has a PhD in comparative literature from Washington University and is an “E-RYT” (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
